For a decades doctors and the pharmaceutical have had an uneasy alliance.   New, and frequently revolutionary, treatments help doctors ply their skills in the art of healing.  But sometimes pharmaceuticals are not so much revolutionary as evolutionary.  In other words, the competitive pharmaceutical industry wants a piece of the pie and brings a chemically and therapeutically similar, but patent protected, version to market.

 

One way to get doctors attention is heightening the awareness of companies products through visits from representatives.  Information such as drug safety, efficacy, tolerability and price is usually delivered along with, sometimes, lunch.  More often however a little “gift” is left  and that is what this blog is all about.
